I'm doing a project for my package design class, (my least favorite class), aaaand I decided to use some of my photos to go along with the design I'm working on. And I'm going through some of my files, see, and I stumble upon this old folder from 2006 labeled 'trip'. Now, I've taken a couple trips with my Da over the years, so I couldn't remember which trip this one was, so I open up the folder aaaaand...
I'm greeted with hundreds of zoo photos that I haven't ever looked through or edited or ANYTHING.
I'm a little shocked. How did I overlook all of these photos for all these years? I feel kinda stupid. So! Sometime in the next couple of weeks, expect a fairly large update of older photos from a couple Canadian zoos.

Moving on, I'm working on an illustration for an illustration journal we have at my school. The theme this time around is dead, so.. I'm going for a queen of the damned sort of image. Now, Ive got the li'l miss queen done, but I need help deciding what I want her li'l animal familiar to be.. I'm torn between a huge-ass sabertoothed tiger or a huger-ass Utahraptor (don't ask. I've got a thing for dinosaurs all of a sudden).

She's going to be sitting on either a pile of zombies or else a large pile of bones with her familiar crouched next to her, and her arm is going to be draped over either his back or shoulders, depending on which one I decide to do. Which one do ya'll think fits, if either? Or do ya'll have any other suggestions for it?

I've been thinking about maybe getting a DA subscription.
Any of ya'll have one? Is it worth it?

I've been holding off until now because it always seemed like such a waste, back when I didn't do much uploading or anything. But now, it seems whenever I have something to upload, I've got about 50+ pictures, so without a sub it takes me a good hour or so at least, a lot of times more than that because I get tired of it and eventually come back around to it later on.
Is the multiple uploads thing the only perk? 'Cause I have really no interest in having a snazzy, pretty skin for my journal since I so rarely use it.. and thumbnails are nice, I suppose, but I don't imagine I'd be using them very often.

Aaaaah, decisions. What a pain.

Anywho. I've kinda been thinkin' about maybe having a contest sometime in the future. Dunno what the subject matter would be yet, or even the prizes.. but I think it'd be kinda fun. Maybe give a certain number of prints to each of the winners? 'Cause I don't have any points to give, and money is well and truely out of the question for something like that. So maybe prints, or requests or something like that, since it's been a while since I actually did any digital drawing.. or even traditional. Haven't sat at my drawing table for quite a while now. It's sad. It's probably lonely by now

Anywho. Photos from my most recent zoo trip and a trip to the aquarium will hopefully be uploaded within the next couple of days.

So.. it's come to my attention that quite a few of the photos I've been uploading are not uploading correctly.
That is to say, they're uploading fine. but then when I go to review them, they're de-saturated as all hell.
And it's not that I'm uploading the wrong file. I only have ONE file that is saved in a way that DA would allow
it to be uploaded.
So what the heck is going on?
Is anyone else having this problem?

Because, seriously, it's kinda pissing me off.
The photos that are becoming un-saturated are meant to be vibrantly colored.
Pulling saturation down just completely ruins them, at least from my, the photographer's, point of view.

Needless to say, it's making me wanna punch DA in the face. >O

Yep.. yep.. my beloved Canon Rebel is broken. Or rather, there's a little pin on the inside that's broken, and now the mirrors inside aren't moving properly. I can't even tell you how heartbreaking it is to know that I don't have a working camera right now. Aurgh... dammit.

Soooo... looks like there won't be any new pictures for a while, not until I get a new camera.

Why get a new one you ask?
Because my rebel is so old.. and the newer ones have more megapixels and everything. So the model I'm looking at is around.. $600.. more than that actually, buuuuut. I like giving rough estimates 'cause they make me feel better cause they're cheaper than the actual price.

Sooo.. if anyone has any money they don't need, feel free to send it my way.. >_> Lol.

Anyway, so. Yeap. Not likely to be much activity for a little while.

So my camera is gonna cost more than I originally thought, mostly because.. I found out the site I was going to order it from is a scam! Or rather, they're deceitful con artists working as a supposedly legit company when, in fact.. they are not.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.

I personally didn't place an order, and I consider myself lucky for that. My dad managed to find some reviews for the company and, wow. Not good. Every single one of them was one star (out of 5) or lower. People ended up missing lenses they ordered, or their orders would get lost, or they'd get calls claiming the camera they ordered was out of stock but oh, by the way, we have this other much more expensive camera that you can buy instead.
In other words, it's not a good place.

Just a word of warning to anyone out there who stumbles upon this site. Do NOT give in to the obscenely low prices. They're a joke, just like the "company" who posted them.
